Please see the document below for what your child will wear on stage on June 8. Costumes will be given out on the last day of classes (June 7). If your child is absent, the teacher will bring their costume to the Capitol Theatre. The document lists the supplied costume and any extra clothing your child must bring on show day.

Ask your child’s teacher about costumes. If you have questions about rehearsals, please contact us. We are here to guide you.

There are rehearsals on Sunday morning, June 8, at the Capitol Theatre for all students performing. Your child does not need to wear their costume or makeup at this rehearsal.

Students should arrive 15 minutes before their group’s scheduled rehearsal time.

Roses: Roses will be sold in the lobby before and after the shows and during intermission. They are $10 each or 2 for $15. Proceeds support Academy activities, including teacher training and our annual Nutcracker production.

Allergies: Please do not bring any nut products to the Capitol Theatre because some dancers have severe allergies.

Photos and videos: Professional photographers and videographers will document the shows. We will notify you when photos and videos are online. Photography and video recording are forbidden during performances.

Procedures for smooth and safe shows on June 8

1 p.m. show
12:20 — Pre-ballet, Hip Hop 1, Jazz 1
12:25 — Tap production (Tuesday evening classes)
12:30 — Mini & Me (groups 1 and 2), Tap 1, Ballet 1, Creative Movement

4 p.m. show
3:20 — Ballet Minis, Jazz 2, Red Acro, Lyrical 2
3:25 — Pre-ballet 2, Broadway, Ballet 3, Tap 2
3:30 — Ballet 2, Jazz Minis, Hip Hop Minis, Lyrical Minis, Hip Hop 2

Only one parent should drop off or pick up each child to avoid congestion. Use the Empress Room entrance at the rear of the Capitol Theatre off Robinson Street. Each group has an assigned table and chaperones. To volunteer, email plieballet@gmail.com.

Dancers should arrive in costume with a little makeup (foundation, blush and lipstick). Dress and style your child at home, and leave clearly labelled street clothes in a bag. On arrival, sign your child in with their first group if they perform in multiple numbers.

Children with more than one dance:

1. With four or more numbers between dances (or three plus intermission), the child changes upstairs in the Empress Room with help from group volunteers.
2. Put everything needed for each dance in a separate Ziplock bag. Label it with the child’s full name, class and, if possible, program number.
3. With three or fewer numbers between dances, the child has a quick change near the stage. Give the labelled Ziplock bag to the quick-change team when you arrive.

At intermission or after the show, pick up your child at the Empress Room by going outside to the Capitol Theatre’s rear entrance off Robinson Court. Remember to sign your child out at the door.

The program for both shows on Sunday, June 8 is below. Please check that your child’s name is spelled correctly and appears in the correct group.
