A few important points
Roses: Please note that we will have roses for sale for your dancers in the lobby during intermission (and before and after shows). These are 1 for $10 and 2 for $15 and proceeds go towards Academy activities, such as financing our teachers’ training and our yearly production of The Nutcracker.
Allergies: Please refrain from bringing ANY nut products to the Capitol Theatre as we have dancers with severe allergies.
Photos & videos: Photographers and videographers will be on hand to document the shows. We will send you a message when the videos and photos are available online. Please note that it is forbidden to take photos or videos during shows at the Capitol Theatre.

Please send only one parent to drop off or pick up your child (to avoid bottlenecking the entryway). Drop your child off at the door to the Empress - the entrance is at the back of the Capitol Theatre off Robinson Street (you have to go upstairs).
Each group is assigned a table. Their chaperones will be waiting for them at that table.
*If you would like to volunteer to stay with your child and watch over the group, please send an email at plieballet@gmail.com
We do ask that dancers arrive for the show wearing a little bit of makeup (foundation, blush and lipstick) and their costume (don't forget to pack a change of clothes). On the day of the show, you are responsible for changing your child into their costume at home (bring a change of clothes for after the performance and leave it with them in a clearly identified bag with their name, as we will change dancers into their street wear after their performance.)
Upon arrival in the Empress, sign in your child with their first group if they are dancing in multiple numbers (at the table with the chaperones).
This message is for all parents of children who have more than one dance in the same dance recital. Here are a few instructions if your child is in this situation:
1) If there are 4 numbers or more between your child's dances in the show program (or 3 numbers plus the intermission), your child will change upstairs in the Empress Room. The volunteers responsible for your child's group will be advised to help your child out so they can be ready in time for the next dance number.
2) To help volunteers easily find the costume for your child's next dance, we ask you to place all necessary items for each dance in a Ziplock bag (one bag per dance). For example: costume, leggings, socks, tap shoes. Please write your child's full name, the dance class in question, and the show program number, if possible (for example: Mia LeBlanc, Stepdance 3).
3) If there are 3 numbers or less between your child's dances in the show's program, your child will have what we call a QUICK CHANGE. In this case, your child will change downstairs, near the stage with a member of the "quick change" team. IF YOUR CHILD HAS A QUICK CHANGE, you need to bring to a member of the "quick change" team the Ziplock which contains all necessities for the quick change in question, so we can keep it near the stage. This is done as soon as your child arrives at the Capitol Theatre.
At intermission or after the show, you must pick up your child at the Empress Theatre by going outside and coming to the backdoor of the Capitol Theatre (by Robinson Court). Again, please only one parent to avoid chaos.
Do not forget to sign out at the door - this is how we control who is still our responsibility.
